Getting Around Paris

Paris is a very visitor friendly city. Aside from the occaional nuisance of pickpockets, all of the areas that you will be visiting as a tourist are quite safe.  And once you have oriented yourself, it is easy to move about to all of the tourist attractions.

Paris is a city meant for walking.  However, Paris also has one of the world's best public transportation systems.  If you are confortable using the Paris Métro and bus systems you can quickly reach all of the areas that you will want to walk in.

And the Paris suburban rail network, the RER, is occasionally useful to tourists as well.

Finally, taxis are available.  We think they are best reserved for trips to and from the Paris airports.
