This tiny restaurant (it seats only 26 people) in the rue de l'Ecole Polytechnique just below the Pantheon serves excellent food, passionately prepared by its Egyptian owner/chef Bibi and served by his French wife, Isabelle.

The decor is quaint...letters, photos and business cards of friends, family and diners are stuck onto big boards, hanging vines hide a workspace and a collection of lacy bras and panties are tacked to one wall (donated by many of Bibi's devoted clients.

Try Bibi's ris de veau (veal sweetbreads), which are excellent.  For the less adventurous, the rumsteak or the lamb chops are good choices. All dishes are accompanied by wonderful fried potatoes with Bibi's secret seasoning.

Don't miss Bibi's homemade profiteroles for dessert.

Bibi works alone in the kitchen and prepares dishes for one table at a time.  As a result, service can be slow. Plan to arrive early if your want to get ahead of the service curve.

This restaurant offers outstanding "raport qualité pris" (relation between quality and price), as the French would say.
